No one knows what really inspired people around 3000BC to raise the giants megaliths. Every generation since can marvel at these monuments, built to amaze anyone who sees them. Many superstitions and beliefs surround these giant stones which remind us of times past.
Sheila Fleet's own romantic thoughts are that they were a sort of clock to mark times and seasons important for stone age man, a world which remains a mystery.
